We offer a variety of voluntary positions at the Folkestone Early Years Children’s Centre. Any help really is appreciated, and in return we offer training opportunities and references for your CV.
Why should I volunteer?
It’s hugely rewarding. You’ll be making a massive difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable children, helping them to reach their potential. There’s also some added benefits for you – you can learn new skills, improve your CV, build your confidence and meet new people. It’s also really good fun.
What can I do?
There are lots of different ways to get involved. It all depends on your interests and the services we run at the Centre. We also need volunteers to help with essential support roles like driving or administration, as well as raising money to make the work we do possible.
How much time would I need to commit?
It all depends on the role and how much you are able to offer. Some volunteers give two hours a fortnight, others two of three days a week. Some get involved in one-off events that last a few hours. It’s pretty flexible – any time you can spare will be hugely appreciated.
What skills do I need?
In most cases, enthusiasm is all you need. If any particular skills are required they will be outlined in the role description.
What support would I receive?
We give all our volunteers an introduction to Action for Children and the support they need from a member of staff. Some roles may need more specific training than others.
